HMS Hermes (R12) Cufflinks
Cufflinks handmade in Teak removed from HMS Hermes during the dismantling work being carried out in India. HMS Hermes was in service with the Royal Navy from 1959 to 1984. Famously serving as the flagship during the Falklands war in 1982.
She was decommissioned in 1984 and sold to be used by the Indian Navy in 1986. She was renamed to INS Viraat and served until 2017. Following a number of failed attempts to save the ship, dismantling started in the Autumn of 2021.
The cufflinks have gold plated fittings which are around 17mm square. Each set will vary slightly as no two pieces of wood have quite the same grain pattern. The thickness of the wood will also vary with each set made.
Cufflinks will be shipped in a recyclable presentation card box as pictured. Also included will be a small certificate giving details of the wood.
All items are handmade by me beginning with rough cut woods. Assembly is completed by using pre-made high quality components for long lasting performance.
