Great news, I have managed to secure a few more pieces of Oak salvaged from HMS victory.
I will be making some more pens over the next couple of weeks. I believe these will be the last pens I will ever be able to make from this stunningly historic wood.
Get them while you canI can't image much more wood being removed for quite some time.
Don't forget I also have some smaller items made with the same Oak available.
The Oak form HMS Victory has arrived and I can't wait to get working with it. Although it will need a couple of days in the workshop to settle to the right moisture content before it can be worked.
The wood has even got some of the original paint in place on a couple of pieces. You can see the orange and black that the outside of the Victory are painted in.
I have made a new set of pens, all are made with Teak removed from HMS Hermes during the dismantling work being carried out in India. HMS Hermes was in service with the Royal Navy from 1959 to 1984. Famously serving as the flagship during the Falklands war in 1982.
