Pen set presented to the leaders at the G7 summit in Cornwall
A picture of the G7 Pen set presented to the leaders at the G7 summit in Cornwall. The pen sets features a fountain pen made in Oak reclaimed form a South West Coast Path finger signpost.
Each pen is slightly different as the grain in any two pieces of wood varies slightly. The pens all had a medium gold plated Bock nib installed. The set also included the Oxford blue ink in both cartridge and bottled ink, I thought it prudent to allow them to be filled from a cartridge at the table to try and avoid any mishaps filling from bottled ink.
The small wooden plaque is a reproduction of the South west coast path oak signpost that was used to make the pens.
I have made a new set of pens, all are made with Teak removed from HMS Hermes during the dismantling work being carried out in India. HMS Hermes was in service with the Royal Navy from 1959 to 1984. Famously serving as the flagship during the Falklands war in 1982.
